This Veterans Day, GSF recognizes the invaluable contributions of our veterans, both in their military service and in their civilian careers. For Cory Dial, Senior Warehouse Manager at Golden State Foods in Conyers, Georgia, his military experience has shaped his leadership style and approach to work.
Cory joined GSF in August 2021 as the Finished Goods Warehouse Manager, after feeling drawn to the company by the potential for growth and opportunities that were lacking in his previous role. "When I saw this position, I felt I would be a good fit for the role, and there was a lot of opportunity to grow within the company," he shares.
Since joining GSF, Cory has experienced positive career advancement with his promotion to oversee both the finished goods warehouse and the ingredients warehouse for the food manufacturing facility. He attributes his success to his willingness to embrace new challenges and to the support of leaders who recognized his potential and encouraged his growth.
Reflecting on his military experience, Cory believes it prepared him for the challenges he faces in his GSF role. He explains, "Being a veteran, I worked in a lot of different environments, and I feel it prepared me to be ready for almost anything. It taught me to be flexible and to focus on the things you can control and to mitigate the things that you cannot. The military taught me that with the proper training, you can take on any challenge or role."
This mindset has served Cory well in his career at GSF, where he enjoys working with his teams and appreciates the resources available to meet customers' needs. When asked what advice he would give to others interested in advancing their careers at GSF, Cory's answer is simple: "Embrace the opportunities that come your way."
Looking to the future, Cory is focused on the job at hand, trusting that the next opportunity will present itself organically. His dedication to his work, coupled with his military background, positions him as a strong leader within the GSF family of companies.
