Today, GSF unveils its first-ever global report on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impacts. Detailing the company’s worldwide commitment to corporate responsibility practices, metrics, strategies, and performance for the 2021 fiscal year, GSF’s inaugural Impact Report centers on the following vision: Golden State Foods’ commitment to doing what’s right for future generations embodies our responsibility and promise to conscientiously facilitate the prosperity of associates, customers, partners, communities, and the environment.
“Our values-driven associates have supported our customers, served our communities, and successfully serviced hundreds of foodservice industry brands for 75 years, operating with sustainability in mind for decades,” said GSF Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mark Wetterau in his message within the report. “Together, we continue to focus on pursuing GSF’s goals to preserve resources, reduce our carbon footprint, and make the world a better place for all of us.”
Available for download at GoldenStateFoods.com, the inaugural report includes key sections about GSF’s sustainability journey and a materiality assessment that defines the company’s most significant focus areas for progress evaluation and future implementation of policies and goals. Additional 2021 Impact Report topics include corporate ethics, customer satisfaction, associate development, workplace health and safety, and diversity, equity, and inclusion, among others. Dedicated to regular and transparent communication, GSF intends to publish an annual impact report to demonstrate progress related to all business units.
“As we look forward and envision what’s next for GSF, this first report serves as a critical tool to help us all align and better understand where we are today and where we want to be in the years ahead,” said Brett Basel, GSF’s Global Sustainability Director. “We appreciate the collaborative efforts and continued involvement of the many associates, teams, and leaders throughout our organization and beyond who have contributed meaningfully to our 2021 Impact Report.”
