It’s been a banner year for several GSF facilities, with the Conyers Meat and Liquid Products teams and CIM successfully completing their respective BRC Audit for 2013. All teams earned “A” ratings, after a two-day audit process.
In addition, this honor enabled CIM to be named the top-performing U.S. facility within GSF in the field BRC compliance for 2013.
“Although this was a goal achieved by the hands of many, we owe a huge debt of gratitude to the leadership of Wendy Bauman [QA Manager – CIM], Eric Wang [Director of Supply Chain, Liquid Products – CIM] and Skip Munn [Operations Director, Liquid Products – CIM] for the huge contributions they made to this achievement,” said Brian Dick, President, Liquid Products, North America. “All the associates on the floor performed their jobs impeccably, the facility looked immaculate, and today we are proud to be on the CIM team. Our best days are still ahead.”
The BRC, or British Retailer Consortium, is a standard to benchmark for food safety management, and is an internationally recognized mark of excellence. Certification to the standard verifies technical competence and aids suppliers’, brand owners’ and retailers’ fulfillment of legal obligations. It also safeguards the consumer, and is the most current standard against which food companies are audited.
Companies are audited annually, with this marking the third time the Meat team has successfully completed their audit, and the fourth time for the Liquid Products team.
“While we expect excellence from our team, we should remember that it doesn’t happen without hard work,” said Wayne Morgan, Corporate Vice President and President, Meat Group. “Special thanks to Bethany Marcinik [Quality Systems Manager] and Chad Beck [Quality Systems Supervisor] along with all of those who supported this effort.”
Continued Brian: “While this was an achievement for all 300+ Conyers Liquid Products associates and support group associates, I would like to mention especially Larry Rose [Senior Operations Director, Liquid Products – Conyers] and Dwayne Bynum [Senior Quality Systems Manager, Liquid Products – Conyers] for their leadership in this endeavor, and Donna Manley [HACCP Coordinator – Liquid Products, Conyers] for her efforts towards this achievement. A special thanks also to Suzanne Mailman [International Food Technologist] from corporate QS for her support.”
